Tang Han (b. 1989 in Guangzhou, lives and works in Berlin) works across the mediums of film, video, installation, and painting. Through storytelling, Han asks questions about representation and meaning, shedding light on the complex interplay between the seen and the spoken. Rather than adopting a macroscopic view, Han's practice delves into the micro-intricacies of our existence, bringing our attention to the validity of the aspects of life that often go unnoticed. In her works,  Han utilises historical materials to construct narratives that respond to contemporary issues, addressing the convergence of ecology, feminism, and consumer culture within our society. Tang Han's work has recently been shown at the 22nd Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil in São Paulo (2023), the Hong-gah Museum in Taipei (2023), Kunstverein Hamburg (2023), Kunsthalle Osnabrück (2023), KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin (2022), Kunsthaus Dresden (2021), and OCAT Shenzhen (2020). Her thought-provoking films have also found a home at renowned film festivals, such as the International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal (2022), the Taiwan International Documentary Festival (2022), Kasseler Dokfest in Kassel (2021), and the Image Forum Festival in Tokyo (2020).
